What’s this all about?

This is a blog in which I explore the reactions, sometimes fun, oftentimes appalling, that I have experienced when displaying my orientation in public, through simple acts like holding another man’s hand. While people tend to think public displays of affection are cute in straight couples, they don’t always extend that courtesy to same-sex ones.

As I began to realize that my straight friends were largely unaware of this phenomenon, I began chronicling my experiences in 2008. I went on hiatus in 2011 to start law school and am still in the thick of it, but I post (very) occasional updates. For more frequent postings, following me on Twitter @gayinpublic.

man, it must suck to be insulted like that. i dont really experience that here in my country (Singapore), simply because society doesnt let us be. i hope that one day i can walk out as a gay man too, without prejudice or special treatment. take care!
